A full directory migration and system setup for the Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia — moving their member directory to MembershipWorks with secure member access, promotions, and online applications.
Moving Off a Legacy Platform
GOABC needed to move their member directory off the Membee platform and onto MembershipWorks — without losing any of the functionality their members and the public relied on. The directory needed to match the existing search-and-filter experience, member data had to be reviewed and cleaned up during the migration, and the association wanted new capabilities: a secure members-only area, a way for members to share promotions and cross-post Mountain Hunter magazine features, and an online application process so new members could join and pay directly through the site.
Directory, Data Review & Member-Only Access
I configured the MembershipWorks directory to match the functionality of the previous platform, applying GOABC's branding within what the platform allows. Alongside the rebuild, I reviewed the imported member data for gaps and re-imported records from the old Membee export where needed, so the finished directory is accurate and complete. I also set up a secure members-only area for content that isn't meant for public access.

Members needed a way to promote themselves beyond a static listing. I added functionality for members to create and share promotions within the directory and members-only areas, plus a simple way to link to any Mountain Hunter magazine features that highlight their business.
Online Membership Application Integration
To make joining GOABC easier, I built an online membership application directly into the site. The form collects everything the association needs from new applicants, and it's connected to their existing payment system so membership fees can be paid securely online — no more manual, offline processing.
